Umbria 2007 - Pricing & Application Info

2009 Summer Season Dates: July 15 - 27, 2009

2010 Winter Season Dates: January 7 - 18, 2010

Pricing & Payment

Singer/ Double Occupancy: $3200

Two payments: $400 (non-refundable) deposit due within 10 days of notification of acceptance into choir; $2800 balance - due no later than February 1, 2009 (Summer 2009); or August 1, 2009 (Winter 2010).

Singer/ Single Occupancy: $3600 (incl. $400 single supplement)

Two payments: $400 (non-refundable) deposit due within 10 days of notification of acceptance into choir; $3200 balance - due no later than February 1, 2009 (Summer 2009); or August 1, 2009 (Winter 2010).

Non-Singer/ Double Occupancy: $2700

Two payments: $400 (non-refundable) deposit due within 10 days of notification of acceptance into program; $2300 - due no later than February 1, 2009 (Summer 2009); or August 1, 2009 (Winter 2010).

Non-Singer/ Single Occupancy: $3100 (incl. $400 single supplement)

Two payments: $400 (non-refundable) deposit due within 10 days of notification of acceptance into program; $2700 - due no later than February 1, 2009 (Summer 2009); or August 1, 2009 (Winter 2010).

You may also choose to make one full payment. All checks are to be payable to "Umbrian Serenades, LLC"

A limited number of Non-singing participants are welcome to accompany participating singers in this season's program, in which they will enjoy the rich array of daily Cultural Tastings (see Sample Itineraries) offered to all.

Program Fee Includes:

  • 3 star European style hotel accommodations for 13 days/12 nights (summer) and 12 days/11 nights (winter)
  • transfers to/from Rome Fiumicino Airport
  • all ground transportation during program
  • three full-time escorts available throughout program
  • all hotel breakfasts
  • some lunches and dinners specified under Cultural Tastings (see Sample Itineraries)
  • all choral "tastings" for singing participants
  • music packets of repertoire to be performed

Our fee does not include air transportation or trip insurance.

All fees are non-refundable. We highly recommend you purchase travel insurance with the company of your choice. Insurance should be purchased immediately upon acceptance into program. Please note this is an independent company and that Umbrian Serenades does not receive any referral fees for this service, but merely suggests it as a resource.

Airfare: Participants are responsible for the purchase of airfare to and from Italy.

Age Requirement:

There is a minimum age requirement of 18. Umbrian Serenades does not have an upper age limit. We do, however, encourage each applicant to self-evaluate his or her own physical stamina, as the Umbrian region is mostly comprised of very steep hills and cobblestone streets; walking up and down these steep hills is part of the daily Umbrian Serenades experience.

All Applicants:

Singers Only:

  • If singing "live" hearing in Philadelphia, you will be asked to vocalize, as well as sing up through ms. 39 of your vocal line a cappella of Victoria's O Magnum Mysterium, which is to be prepared in advance..
  • Have your present voice teacher or choir director contact us, as indicated in the application form.
  • If mailing a quality tape or CD recording, follow these guidelines:

    1. Announce your name, hometown, and voice part.
    2. Vocalize through scales and/or arpeggios on your vowel of choice to show off your low as well as your high range.
    3. Sing your vocal line a cappella of Victoria's O Magnum Mysterium.

ALL applicants: Mail the completed application form, as well as a check for $60 made out to "Umbrian Serenades, LLC" (singers only), and quality recording (if this applies to you) to:
